The visit is the second time in history that His Royal Majesty Otumfo Osei Tutu visited the Berekum land over 400 years ago since the town is the traditional territory of the Ashanti Kingdom. Berekum traditionally is under Asanteman which the late Paramount Chief Dasebre Dr. Amankona Diewuo II was the true son of Otumfo Osei Tutu II, hence had to come to Berekum together with over 50 Paramount Chiefs to observe the funeral and burial of the late chief.  INJUNCTION RESTRAINING ME FROM ATTENDING BEREKUMHENE'S FUNERAL WAS A PLAN WORK-DORMAAHENE   The Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Agyeman Badu Il, who doubled as Bono Regional House of Chiefs President, has confirmed an earlier interlocutory injunction restraining him from attending the burial rites of the paramount chief of Berekum Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo ll.  According to Osagyefo, he is not surprised about development and described the injunction as a plan work, therefore advising people of Bono to be vigilant. He added that Osagyefo is never afraid of anyone, he respects the laws of our land so he decided not to attend the funeral. Finally, Dormaahene cautioned the traditional council of Berekum to know he may be needed one day. All the above statements were made at Abanpredease Palace when he (Osagyefo) addressed his people who were ready to attend the failed funeral.
