BRING BACK PUBERTY RITE INTO OUR CULTURAL PRACTICES - QUEEN MOTHER CALL ON GOVERNMENT. Nana Afia Twumah l (Asokwa Hemaa) of Odumase No.1 Traditional Council in Sunyani West of the Bono Region has suggested to the traditional leaders in the country and the government that, it is high time we bring back puberty rite into our cultural practices that can help put fear into the life our children especial the young girls to help reduced teenage pregnancy among the girls. Nana Afia Twumah l again added that, teenage pregnancy is in the high rate in the Odumase township, the Municipal capital of Sunyani West. She observed that, recently we don’t value our culture such as puberty rite and we are now following the western culture lifestyle which is gradually deteriorating our youth and has paved way currently for the rise of teenage pregnancy in the Odumase community. She called on the traditional authorities and the government to reintroduced and bring back puberty rite. Nana A
