Suhum NDC Women's Wing Empowers over 800 School Girls to Celebrate the World Menstrual Hygiene Day With Suhum Presbyterian Senior High School. World Menstrual Hygiene Day aims to create awareness and change negative perceptions around menstrual hygiene, which Suhum NDC Women's Wing collaborated with Engaged Now Africa NGO, which aims to benefit women worldwide while the date 28th of May was selected to acknowledge that 28 days is the average length of the menstrual cycle. Menstrual Hygiene management can be particularly challenging for girls and women in developing countries who have no proper access to information or facilities. Furthermore, traditional cultures make the topic taboo, not to be discussed, making it further difficult for them to address the issue. THINKAID FOUNDATION GHANA CELEBRATES 2023 WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY WITH THE BEREKUM CATHOLIC CLUSTER OF SCHOOLS. Thinkaid Foundation Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation, together with the Berekum East Municipal Girls Education Unit, in the Bono region of Ghana, has celebrated the 2023 World Menstrual Hygiene Day with the teenage girls of the Berekum Catholic cluster of schools. The celebration drew 500 teenage girls from the St. Johns R/C Basic School, St. Augustines R/C Basic School, Baidan R/C Basic School, Methodist B and C Basic School, Akatim Basic School, parents, teachers as well as the Berekum Municipal Education Directorate and representatives of the Berekum traditional council were also present to grace the occasion. As part of the occasion, Thinkaid Foundation distributed over 500 sanitary pads to the girls freely to enable them to adopt the use of the pads whenever they have their menstruation.
